Verify an inspection report

Check that a Rental Proof Inspect report existed unchanged by the date it was registered.

How it works

When a user finishes an inspection in Rental Proof Inspect, the app can create a PDF report and, if the user chooses, register the report's fingerprint: a code worked out from the report's photos and condition ratings. If any photo or rating changes later, the code changes.

Registering records the time we first received that fingerprint, so anyone holding the report can confirm it existed unchanged by that date.

What we store

Only the fingerprint, the type of inspection, the app version and the registration time. We never receive property addresses, names, photos or notes, and we do not store IP addresses with a fingerprint.

What this is not

Verification confirms a report has not changed since registration. It does not confirm that what the photos show is accurate, and it is not legal advice. For tenancy rules and deadlines, check your state's tenancy authority (in Queensland, the RTA).
